Flow Duration Curve for Gauged Daily Flows

Station Description

Multi-path cross-configuration ultrasonic gauging station beneath road bridge; enlarged bridge opening creates large capacity but, correspondingly, low velocities; these can impact on low flow precision. Full range station. Notable Nov. 2000 peak under review. Flashy response with lengthy periods of very low flow. Low flows influenced by effluent returns. Station is used for flood monitoring purposes.

Catchment Description

Predominantly impervious Weald Clay with some Lower Greensand in lower reaches. A largely rural catchment (south of Guildford) centred on Cranleigh.
