For a full listing, see LOIS Datasets. The Rivers Data Centre used WIS, an Environmental Information System, to store and manage the data. It has a geographical user interface, and allows the user to record the history of any object, or feature, as it moves through space and time. WIS's ability to handle such a wide range of data types lies in its conceptual data model, a three dimensional array of cells in the form of a cube whose axes represent objects (features), properties (attributes) and time or 'what', 'where' and 'when'.
